Blog #5: Prized Possession

When I was young my parents would always get me gifts, whether it was for a birthday or just because. None of them really meant something big to me, until last year. My father and my step mom gave me a necklace. Now the thing that makes this necklace so special to me is that my father lives over seas and he can never make it to the states for my birthday. It has been 6 years since my father has been here for my birthday since he moved. Last year he managed to make it work to where he could stay here for my birthday before coming back. This gift stands for how my father will always do whatever he can and sacrifice anything to make me happy. The necklace is one big heart and contains 2 little ones, to me the big heart is I and the two little stand for my father and step mom. They mean the world to me and I know it does to them too. I wear it all the time but have to take it off from time to time.

Blog #6: I <3 KC

We all have our home town, the place where we were raised and where we grew up with our friends. We were taught all the little things and places about our home towns. My hometown is Overland Park, KC. I love this place because it is home. I grew up here with my family and my grandparents. My summers were filled with long drives and going to the pool, yes it was not the beach and mountains but that is the point. Since we did not have those fascinating attractions, we found ways to have fun with, to most people, nothing. I am going to miss driving down Kenneth Rd. because we were bored on a Saturday and needed something to do. The house parties and spending time with the friends i created memories with throughout high school. There is one place that I will never forget, The spot. Well that is what me and my friend call it. It is a place that not many people know about. It is in a park and to get to there we walk a path for about 5 minutes and we get to an amazing open field surrounded with trees. Now let me tell you, at night this place is so lit up from the amazing stars and shine from the moon. I am going to miss going there when I need quiet or time for myself. It is my getaway and I hope that wherever I end up in the next couple of years has a new "spot" for me.

Blog #4: TV Rescue

If I were to be kidnapped I would choose the characters off of criminal minds. This may sound like a very simple answer, some people may also think that it is the easiest answer. But if you have actually seen the show you would agree with me 110%. These people have team of experts, it is what they do on a daily basis. They deal with criminal cases and have the technology to allow them to find where people are. Not just that, they know how to speak to the criminals so that they do not kill anyone and kind of persuade them to do the right things. I think that the kidnap will happen in a park, that seems to happen a lot in the show. They get a call from my mother or something like that and the team finds out about it, they get their search team and  head to the park. They try and look for clues, not only any clues, but ones to trace back to the kidnapper too. One thing that gets me the most in this show is they always get the things that I could never get. They are so good at what they do I wish it was real. They will find clues in the woods, such as a hair piece or shoe, not the normal foot prints. As they look around one of them finds my backpack, they try and keep walking that way yet they do not see a house nor a building I could be in. They think maybe I might be in a car but we are in the woods so they just keep looking. One of them find a piece of wood on the ground, but the wood won't come off the ground. I am in there, sitting inside behind the door. They somehow get it open and find me down there but so is he. With a gun to my head, the man is standing there while the team is in shock but yet still calm. They talk to the guy try and persuade him to let it go but he won't give in. Finally after talking to him he sets it down and someone runs over to get me. He is then handcuffed and well we all know what happens after that. I thought so many things, I was going to die or even I was going to be stuck in this place forever.

Blog #3: Most Influential Person

I believe that Demi Lovato has made an impact with her outstanding music and talent. She does not just go on stage to sing about a boy or a broken heart. She has accomplished to fight through everything she has been through. She was bullied, grew up with divorced parents, and had eating disorders. After years she decided to go into treatment and become a strong "warrior". She has helped shape thee whole community for the better by sharing her music with the whole world. She is an inspiration for young girls who are going through tough time in their lives. She helps them know there is something better and there always is.She also allows girls to see more beauty in themselves, and to not let the "images" get to them. She connects with her fans and teen girls because she went through the same thing many of "us" are going through or even went through. She does not act like she is any better than any one else. She is a "warrior" showing others her way.

Blog #2: Do you think you will win with a 1 in 292 million chance?

There is one thing that has been going crazy on the news this past week. Most of us, when I say this I mean underage kids, are waiting for the wait to be over. Who will win the Power ball ticket? The reason I say this because I myself am not 18 and I cannot get involved in this extravaganza. This article is just another one talking about how much bigger the jackpot will reach Tuesday morning, $1.5 billion. The next drawing will take place on Tuesday. I myself have a few opinions on the whole Power ball idea. I am not one that agrees with gambling, and paying money to "maybe" win some more. Although, I do like the whole high  blood pressure, and intensity it is not my favorite. What I question is how are so many people buying these tickets and spending money for the past week, Yet not one person has one this giant pot of money. They say that the odds in winning is 1 in 292 million people. That is crazy and people still think they will win.

Blog #1 : New Years Resolution

2015 was a year filled with growth and change, and yes people always say every year something changes. Reflecting over this year, I see that there was so much change for me whether it was good or bad. Now when I say goal I mean going to college where I want and should, gaining friends and more love from family, and creating more self confidence in myself.
I ended 2015 in a different country with people I never thought I would ever meet. Some people may say that, that does not seem like a fun New Years with friends, but to me it gave me a new outlook on things. We are raised in a society with everything being the same, such as you must spend New Years with people you love and cherish and celebrate, etc. but to be honest doesn't that seem a little boring? The same routine every year? I never thought of it this way until this trip, I was taught that there is so much more to life than what we really see. No one wants to leave their comfort zone, and trust me I do not blame them. This was the first time I have ever left the country and it was by myself and my brother.. no adult. Now you tell me if that is out of my comfort zone. But look where I am today, I feel like a whole new person and with this experience I cannot wait for what 2016 has in store for me. It is cheesy to say, I want to live my life with no regrets and keep an open mind. I am going to test it, and I am going to do it.
Now when having a goal it is not easy to succeed. One way I want to go on with this goal is to explore more cultures and other parts of the world, whether it is research or flying over there and seeing it myself. There are obstacles in life, yet some people believe it is easy as pie. Going to Doha was not an easy task, there was plenty of convincing to do with my mother. Of course she is a mom and is worried about her two "little" kids going over seas alone. With my mom being more worried about my traveling alone, causes me to have to do more convincing. So I will research and make sure I have every little bit figured out so once I go get the "OK" she will not have to worry about much... I hope. I am excited to see what this upcoming semester and year has in store for me... I mean who knows, I may even decide to go to college in a another country ;)
